Nevada Home Inspector License Requirements
The home inspection profession is regulated in Nevada and requires a license. Nevada requires new home inspectors to complete several steps before applying for a home inspector license. Follow the path below to become a licensed home inspector in Nevada.

Length: 90-Hours (Online)
PHII's Nevada Certification Course is 90-Hours and contains 20 in-depth lessons covering all major components and systems you'll evaluate during a home inspection. Topics include site conditions, grounds and grading, exterior and structural elements, roofing, plumbing, electrical systems, attics, interior components, bathrooms and kitchens, basements and crawlspaces, HVAC systems, and garages and carports. In addition to technical training, the course also provides guidance on how to build and operate a successful home inspection business.
The course includes interactive flashcards and quizzes designed to help you practice and reinforce the objectives of each lesson. You can revisit and review the course material at any time, and you're free to retake lessons and quizzes as often as needed until you've fully mastered the content. Once you pass the final exam, you’ll receive your home inspector certificate. After completing any additional state requirements, you'll be fully prepared to begin your career as a home inspector.

This course is excellent preparation for exams such as the National Home Inspector Examination (NHIE). Course lessons take an in-depth look at light construction systems, components and code requirements
that home inspectors will need to know to pass the NHIE.
The course also covers home inspection report analysis, business operations, liability, professional ethics and ancillary inspections such as swimming pools and lawn irrigation systems that are required topics for the NHIE. You will learn about building codes typically covered on state and national home inspector exams, potential hazards such as EIFS, aluminum wiring, and polybutylene supply piping, an indepth look at many HVAC systems, how to complete an exceptional home inspection report that conforms to national standards and much more.

PHII's Online 4-Point Inspection course is 3 hours and qualifies home inspectors to perform 4-point home inspections and expand their business into this thriving field. The course teaches 4-Point inspections as they relate to the homeowner insurance industry. Each lesson identifies a specific section of the 4-point inspection form and how to write up the report. Our course will thoroughly cover each of the sections of the 4-Point Inspection Form.
Pool and Spa Inspection ($199)
PHII's Online Pool and Spa Inspection Course is 14 hours and covers in ground and above ground pools, hot tubs and larger portable pools found across the country. You will learn how to conduct a limited inspection of liners, decking and coping, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, heating systems and pool safety. Manufactured Home Inspection ($299)
PHII's Online Manufactured Homes Course is 16 hours and teaches you how to perform an inspection on a manufactured home and how to write an inspection report for homes built to HUD regulations, which affects the design and construction methods. You will learn how to use equipment to record quality-assured results for your clients. PHII's radon course has been approved by the American Association of Radon Scientists and Technologists & National Radon Proficiency Program (AARST-NRPP) and the National Radon Safety Board (NRSB), which are the national governing bodies that approve radon training. An approved course is required before taking the National Radon Safety Board (NRSB) exam or (NRPP) exam and getting licensed. Simple Home Construction Course ($199)
PHII's Online Simple Home Construction is 8 hours and provides an overview of how typical single family dwellings have been constructed during the last century. It follows the basic order of home construction from the foundation to the framing to elements of the interior rough-in, identifying important components and how they are assembled. This course will help new inspectors quickly learn the basics of how a home is constructed.
House Framing Methods ($299)
PHII's online House Framing Course is 45 hours and covers all the methods and materials used to create the structure of the home. It includes the foundation, walls, ceilings, roof, decks, openings and any other part of the home that must support weight. Most house framing is only visible from unfinished areas. This makes it difficult to spot defects unless you have a solid knowledge of framing. Covers the types of house framing you are likely to encounter as a home inspector including platform, balloon, post-and-beam, concrete, steel and masonry framing.

PHII's online mold safety, assessment, reporting and standards course is 16 hours and provides a good introduction for home inspectors and others who may want to expand into indoor air quality (IAQ) inspections or later pursue mold certification training. Structural Pest Inspection ($299)
PHII's Online Pest Course is 24 hours and was written in accordance with EPA guidelines to enable you to obtain your structural pest inspector license (SPI) and add this lucrative service to your business. The course contains informative and easy to master lessons that will help you learn how to identify and detect termites and other wood-destroying pests including beetles, ants, bees, and fungi.
